Yield: 1/2 cup
Ingredients:
- Rice vinegar, 2 tbsp
- Granulated sugar, 2 tbsp
- Light soy sauce, 1 tbsp
- Dark soy sauce, 1 tbsp
- Shaoxing Wine, 2 tsp
- Chili Sauce, 1/4 or 1/2 tsp
- Asian Sesame Oil, 1/4 tsp
- Cornstarch, 1 1/2 tsp
- Water, 1 tbsp
- Peanut Oil, 1 tbsp
- Garlic, 4 cloves crushed minced
Steps:
- Make a cornstarch-water slurry in small bowl. Set aside.
- In another bowl, combine all other ingredients except for garlic and peanut oil. Mix well.
- Heat oil over medium heat. Add garlic and stir until aromatic.
- Add sauce to pan and bring to boil while stirring (~1 minute).
- Stir cornstarch-water mixture and add to sauce. Stir and cook to desired thickness.
Notes:
- Makes enough for ~4 stir fries.
