Ingredients:
- Extra Firm Tofu, 14 oz
- Corn Starch, 1/4 cup
- Canola Oil, enough for frying
- Sesame Seeds, 1/2 cup toasted
- Tamari Sauce, 3 tbsp
- Ginger, 3 tbsp minced
- Sesame Oil, 2 tbsp
- Rice Wine Vinegar, 2 tbsp
- Garlic, 2 cloves minced crushed
- Red Chili Pepper Flakes, 2 tsp
Steps:
- Press tofu (~20 minutes).
- Combine all other ingredients, except cornstarch. Bring this sauce to simmer while tofu presses.
- Dry tofu with paper towel and dust with cornstarch.
- Heat 1" oil in deep frying pan until oil.
- Fry tofu until golden brown.
- In a bowl with 2/3 cup of sauce, stir tofu.
Notes:
- Can be served over rice with vegetables and remaining sauce.
