Low-power broadcast FM (LPFM)
Since 2000, Radio Broadcasting Preservation Acts have created airspace for low-power broadcast FM stations (LFPM). These stations are relatively inexpensive to establish, enabling hyperlocal community radio stations to emerge. FCC’s LPFM site allows searching for stations by state.
